"Hell Of A Good Deal"
Pros: Simple to install and set up. Great sound especially for the price.
Cons: Cumbersome remote.
Summary: I wanted a surround sound system to go with my 50" plasma TV. I did not want anything to replace my home sound system, just to enhance the TV. For $400 this system accomplished it rather well. Using the included microphone setting up the speakers was a snap. The sound, especially at volume is awesome. The track scenes in Taladega Nights easilly shook the ceiling and the surround effect is quite prominant. Is it audiophile?? No but it is damn good. I honestly did not see the need to spend much more money. Could the sound be improved upon?? Certainly but no at the price and not with such ease. I did not use the speaker stands because the speakers themselves are quite small and easy to hang. If I do have one complaint it's that it could be a bid louder but again, I am a bit hard of hearing and no one else who has heard it seems to agree.
