Great active subwoofer, great deep bass, speakers is...OK,... sounds nice, BUT DVD is garbage, 2 repairs in 7 monts.

Cons: You would think Sony would know how to build a DVD player but the one that comes with this system is the worst.

Wow! truly fantastic sound and picture !by - October 6, 2004
Pros: Easy to setup. Floor stands for speakers. Sleek look and design. Awsome sound. Sony quality.

Looks great,but major problems with DVDby - July 12, 2004
Pros: Easy to install. Looks great!
Cons: I took my one month old unit back to the store because my DVD wasn't working properly. I was given another unit. 6 months have passed and I'm experiencing simular problems with my second unit. I'm a big Sony fan, but there Dream is my Nightmare.

solid systemby - April 24, 2004
Pros: I went into Tweeter and they had the DAV-FC8 hooked up to an Elite Pro1110HD plasma display (i.e. the best plasma display on the market as of 2004, only $12k). The two are very nice together. I ask the store rep what the difference is between the DAV-FC8
Cons: You pay to have a good quality system. And you'll want a good TV to complement it (if you don't want plasma, check out the Sharp Aquos line of LCDs).
