"A good system that could have been great!"
Pros: Auto calibration, cool looking DVD/Receiver unit
Cons: Slightly underpowered, no HDMI in
Summary: I've had the system for 5 days now and I've tried it every which way. The system is slightly underpowered but the sound is crisp and settings abound for techno geeks. Auto calibration is extremely easy and quick. Only two of the speakers have stands (front ones), 2 rear ones are made to be hung from wall or purchase 2 additional stands. While Sony sells their stands for $149.00 - I simply purchased a pair of B-Tech adjustable stands for $79.00 and they worked well and are same colour as Sony stands. The combined 5-disc DVD player/receiver (AM/FM)is very nice and cool looking however it lacks an HDMI input. My DVR/Cable box has an HDMI output but I can't use it to connect to the Sony DVD/Receiver - seems like a waste to use other type of connection. Manual is fair no more - while all the info is laid out, you have to hunt for it. One of the first thing it should mention is that each speaker and wire attachment are colour coded and that wire with colour tube goes into grey connection. This information is laid out piece meal and you have to read three different sections to discover this key info. That said, it is a good system and well worth the price I paid ($499.99 +tax) on sale. I would not have paid the listed price of $799.99 +tax. Bottom line, a good system that could have been great with a little more power and an HDMI-in connection.

The instructions clearly state in both the short hand out and the long booklet that grey/color is supposed to go in a certain slot. Its clearly stated, I just bought the system and hooked it up easily. Now for one who never hooked up any type of system the instructions are easy to follow. Read.
Great product that has out shot its expectations for me. -
I didn't see the big deal in not having a HDMI input until I actually decided to use HDMI to hook up my system with my TV and I realized that I would still have to use an audio cable to get my normal tv channels and my playstation to go through the surround system. It is a bummer, but I still like the system
