"Very good small-medium room home theater"
Pros: Outstanding sound, inexpensive
Cons: unpowered sub, bland display, only two audio inputs
Summary: Right out the box I noticed instantly that there was no power cord running from the sub. What the hell..........Suprise suprise but the subwoofer actually manages to pack quite a punch, so much so that it actually sounds a lot better than any powered sub I've owned.
This system is ideal for someone with limited space (living in an apartment perhaps.....with picky room-mates). I think its designed specifically with small to medium sized rooms in mind. I have found that the sound output is especially clear and rich (to my amatuer ears) and the sub puts out really compelling bass.
Beware people that this thing only has two audio inputs on its rear. If you're expecting to connect anything more than a DVD player and a stereo or something.....think again. This however is ideal for me because I already own a Pelican Pro system selector. Needless to say, I was able to connect all my components through the system selector and then run one audio to the receiver.
And that's another thing, there's no DVD player included but since most households now own at least one DVD player, that should not be a problem for most. In all, I must say that the HT-DDW660 is one of the most capable home theater systems I've used. I'm only peeved that I can't find the dang thing anywhere in black............
