"Dirt cheap good for room shaking movies"
Pros: Cheap, decent speakers, great sub for the price, auto calibration for newbies
Cons: No 5.1 RCA inputs, no HDMI, no component, one toslink, one digital RCA
Summary: I bought this at Fry's for $97. I wouldn't recommend paying more than $125 for it. It's a decent surround system. I hooked it up to the HD-DVD player in my master bedroom via toslink (DTS only no lossless audio) and watched Transformers. The room shook during the bass scenes. I wouldn't try to use this for classical music or high fidelity sound. However, for loud movies. This hits the spot at a decent price.
The receiver is bulky and (relatively) heavy for something lacking so many features like multiple toslink inputs, video switching, analog RCA inputs, etc. Moreover, the speaker connections are the lovely black/red clips suitable for boomboxes rather than a surround sound receiver.
