Review: I just wanted to clarify that this HTIB system does in fact have an AM/FM tuner - the previous poster stated it does not.

Good entry level system with short comings
Pros: Subwoofers has a volume control in the back, multi mode (for music, movies, sports)
Cons: No AM/FM tuner, no bass/treble control on the remote, bulky remote
Review: YHT-270 is a combination of HTR 5930 receiver, SW-P270 subwoofer, NX-E270 surround speakers, and NX-C270 center speaker. I found this system to be a good combination of price and features. The sound is pretty good for the price. Considering this is still an entry level it has a decent sounds for not so demanding audience. The bass is nice and deep but does not send shock waves to the neighbors. The sounds from the surround speakers is quite nice and brings out many details in movies. The different modes are pretty good and emphasize sounds differently according to the needs – movies sound very different from soccer games. There is lots of emphasis on XM radio – lots of control on the remote and the receiver itself. Many inputs both analog and digital. One of the negatives that I found was that when switching between different inputs (such as TV and radio) there is a great contrast between values, so I need to quickly adjust when switching. The remote is a bit bulky. The wires are not wired into the speakers so it is easy to upgrade, replace or just buy longer ones to spread out the speakers. Front and surround speakers have the ability to be mounted on a pedestal which is sold separately – nice upgrade possibility.
