This is dual-speed 2824 hub by Compaq to deliver optimal performance and high dependability. Ideal for users who plan to migrate from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet, this hub provides the functionality of a 10Mb/s hub, a 100Mb/s hub, and a switch in a single, low-cost unit. This 24 port hub can be stacked up to five units high with a managing unit in the stack-two high without a managing unit-for a total port count of 120 connections. The Netelligent 2824 Dual Speed Hub is also stackable with the Netelligent 2624 and 2524 100Base-T Hubs. Only one managing unit may be configured in a stack, and if the 2624 is the managing unit, the stack can only be up to three units high. Each Netelligent 2824 Dual Speed Hub has built-in management that provides SNMP and RMON (groups 1, 2, 3, & 9) support. One Netelligent 2824 can manage an entire Netelligent 2000 Fast Ethernet hub stack. Compaq Netelligent Management Software is also included automatically. Smart Uplink connection technology increases the number of hubs allowed within a network and extends the distances between hubs well beyond the Fast Ethernet standard guidelines. Smart Uplink Modules isolate collision domains and restart repeater hop counts. This allows multiple connections and hierarchical 'pyramid' configurations similar to 10Base-T configurations.
