This hub died suddenly about a month into using it. The ""24 hour tech support"" promised on the box usually involves someone taking a message (after 25 mins-3.5 hours on hold) so ""a technician can call you back."" The callbacks ranged from two days to never. I finally spoke with someone in person, was told an RMA would be issued by e-mail, but that I could give him a credit card # to guarantee the shipment if I wanted to send it right away and have them send one at the same time. Never received e-mail. E-mailed tech support two more times, finally called and got a person, who promised me an RMA by fax and gave me the ""special offer"" of the credit card thing. Nevaer received a fax, called his direct line and left a message, got no response.

Bought one for my home network. I haven't had any problems with it. For networking hardware that's high praise, since it's only good when you don't notice it. Hubs don't have features, like switches and routers. All they do is bounce electrical signals around. So way pay all the $$ for a 3com or an Intel that does the same thing. After a month of continuous (and pretty heavy) use, as well as being stuck at the back of my desk covered with hot monitors. The hub has yet to get hot or show signs of poor manufacturing. I'd give it a perfect rating but I haven't had too call there support line yet, and I think Linksys could deliver a slightly better value of 8 ports for the same price.
