SnagIt delivers customized screen captures with the press of a hotkey. SnagIt is the only screen-capture software that captures images, text, and video from your Windows desktop. Effortlessly produce perfect graphics and video with this complete capture solution. You can capture anything you see to a graphic file or send it directly to the printer with a single keystroke. Options include the screen, a window or an arbitrary rectangle. There is special support for capturing menus and repeated captures of fixed-sized images, such as icons and buttons. File formats supported include GIF, JPEG, TIF, PCX, PNG, BMP and AVI. SnagIt creates Internet-ready files, i.e. interlaced GIF and progressive JPEG. Also there is a transparent GIF support. Over a dozen other formats are also supported. You can grab text from applications that don't support Cut and Paste. Examples include text blocks in Encarta, the directory and files windows of the Windows 95 File Explorer, and the message header windows in the Exchange Client. SnagIt reads the screen and saves editable ASCII text. Captures may be delimited for easy import into spreadsheets and databases. SnagIt v5.0 supports this feature for Windows 95 and Windows 98 only. SnagIt v5.1 and above supports this feature for Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT and Windows 2000!
