The newest version of Ulead PhotoImpact retains many of the strengths of its predecessors but disappoints on a few counts. Ulead has spiffed up version 11 with many features aimed at digital-camera and camcorder users who want to correct, transfer, and add special effects to images with the least possible pain. We have to admit, though, that the installation process was a bit unwieldy, requiring separate steps to process each of the four programs in the bundle. Overall performance--both the speed and the stability of the application--suffers as well.
Digital photographers will appreciate that PhotoImpact now supports raw files in both the main application and the two bundled organizers. Plus, users can save images for mobile display on devices such as phones, PDAs, and the PlayStation Portable. For moviemakers, PhotoImpact will save GIF and PNG images complete with alpha channels. The program also has a slew of new templates for making custom DVD menus.
Ulead PhotoImpact 11's feature set should satisfy those who need strong Web-graphics tools and don't care about organizing media. But if you require an excellent image editor with superb organizational features, take a peek at the similarly priced Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.

Dont hold your breath for rebatesby Vickiveil - January 23, 2006
Pros: Nice price
Cons: IF you get the rebate
Review:
I have purchased 2 different Ulead products over the past several years. Both from a software store in Ohio. NEITHER TIME did I receive my rebate. At this point (4 months after I sent in all required data to receive rebate) I have contacted them by email 3 times with NO response.
I like Ulead - but don't like being taken advantage of.

Stick with PhotoImpact 10by damhikt - December 7, 2005
Pros: PI11 finally adds RAW support, and the updated Object Extraction Wizard works well.
Cons: The pros are negated by the interface that sacrifices functionality in an attempt to be more aesthetically pleasing.
Review:
I have been a user of PhotoImpact since PI6, but this new version is not a worthy upgrade. I'll stick with PI10 and wait for the next release.
