"Alpine has very poor customer service, Moderate product.. OVERPRICED"
Pros: A/V in-dash Alpine IVA-W505 head unit, great IDEA with removable GPS
Cons: Alpine is awful to work with. GPS not accurate. Bad support is worse than NO SUPPORT

"Ok but, nav dbase cannot be updated (as of Jul'09)"
Pros: Good blue tooth synch with Motorola Razr. Will synch address book automatically everrytime you power up. Sony/Eric. W580i would synch but with two duplicated entries per contact. Screen default position is slight donwn tilt, reduces glare.
Cons: My housing area, which has been around for 7 years not in dbase. Currently (Jul'09) no update capability. Nav unit is a seperate cartridge that installs behind the screen. If you use for a job that requires latest, stay away for now anyway.
