"How many actually own this product?"
Pros: Does everything I could want it to do.
Cons: People think its crap because its a Jensen and remote buttons are small.
Summary: All the reviews so far are from people that just think everything is crap from Jensen, which I think is wrong. I have had the model vm9411 which is the same as the vm9511 except it isn't touch screen and the navigation module is not compatible. I have had many car stereo setups with JL, pioneer, and all the other name brands so I am aware of Jensen's reputation. I was very reluctant to purchase it as well because the name Jensen envokes thoughts of bad craftsmanship. I decided what the hell and purchased it anyway since I was looking for a in dash dvd below $1000.
The main thing that draw me too it was the price and that it supported the IPOD video. You can hook up your IPOD Video and watch all your videos through the ipod cable which is great. The screen is nice, the ipod integration is very easy to use and responsive, and it sounds good. The tv atenna doesnt really work that well as expected but you can always add a better antenna if watching tv is your deal.Ive had the unit for three months now and I couldnt be happier with it.

The only aspect of the Jensen that I see is as superior to units from companies like Sony or Pioneer is the iPod-appearance to the graphical display. Both Sony and Pioneer (and probably others as well) have two-channel x 2 DVD+LCD in-dash units in the EXACT SAME street price range as the VM9511TS. Each does things a bit differently, but they more or less offer similar features for about the same price.
Frankly, it still comes down to brand reliability and reputation. Thirty YEARS ago, Jensen had some well-earned props in the mobile audio aftermarket (remember 'Triax' speakers?). In the '80s, the company fell off the quality map with the shlock and drivel they were shoveling out on the unsuspecting public. Perhaps these days things are better, but Audiovox (Jensen's parent company) would have to go a LONG way to prove to ME that they're something better than just a holding company trying to make bank on the ancient reputations of once-cherished but now dustbin-laden brand names ('Phase Linear', 'Advent', 'Acoustic Research', etc...even 'Jensen').
I won't write a review on the WM9511TS, mainly because I don't own or have any experience with one. But I do trust the opinions of those who actually SELL and INSTALL such gear and, to be honest, few if any I know would ever consider a Jensen H/U as the centerpiece of a custom mobile system to build around, even WITH a great iPod interface.
