"Great Cheap Printer"
Pros: Very low cost black ink. Many clone cartridge available. Canon makes great no nonsense drivers.
Cons: Combined Color tank makes color printing expensive. Printer will give an error after about 10000 pages are printed
Summary: Great low end printer simple to use drivers that don't constantly bother the end user or consume RAM when the printer is not on. (I think this is unique to Canon) Also the cartridges are exteremly cheap both the original canon ones and the compatiables.
On the down side this printer will fail about about 10,000 pages printer with a "waste ink absorber pad full error". I think this is there way of forcing you to buy a new printer. Also with most inkjet printers that don't include a printhead with each cartridge print quality will degrade as the printhead wears out. I find they are good for about 10,000 pages also.
Even considering these short comings when comparing to the other brands I still recommend this printer.
