Canon Pixma iP6220D

"Should be used exclusively for photo printing." on by Doug Rodrigues
Pros: Excellent photo print quality.
Cons: Ink cartridges too small and expensive.
Summary: Photo quality is near perfect. The untrained eye cannot differentiate between this and commercial lab photos. Printing a moderate amount of text will rapidly deplete the ink cartridge containing 1/3 black ink. And 2/3 color ink. Text would more economically be printed on a iP4000 or similar printer with separate black ink. Unless you refill your own cartridges, plan on spending a lot of money on purchasing the CL-51 cartridge if you print much text.

"Outstanding photo printer !" on by RNecaca
Pros: Prints outstanding photos, nice LCD screen, and light weight.
Cons: A bit noisy, and print black and white text kind of slow.
Summary: Excellent quality photo printer. Prints nice vibrant, bright photos. You can take the memory card out from your digital camera to the ip6220D memory reader and print it without you connect it to the PC. If you want the best results make sure you use any kind of Canon photo paper. Nice job Canon!

"This printer is a ink hog" on by john343
Pros: Good quality photos
Cons: Uses up ink too fast and expensive to replace
Summary: I have had much better printers. Will probably look for something else.

"no more "great deals" on Canon printers" on by Rick in Green Harbor
Pros: did great photos while it worked
Cons: ink hog, none of the after market ink brands worked, phantom smudges, tried cleaning print head multiple times without success
Summary: I would never buy a camera other than Canon. The quality and service is without peer. Which makes my two experiences with their printers all the more frustrating. An i-470 and and iP-6220 both died after tantalizingly good short term service. What a shame. A printer should last more than a year or two.

"Works well for me" on by dweathers1220
Pros: LCD, Blue Tooth, Speed, software
Cons: Would only use for photos
Summary: This printer works great. I have had no problems with it at all. I printed some 8.5x11" prints and people thought they were done by a professional. The software is easy to use. It prints fast. My girlfriend has an HP and she complained that digital photos aren't good because of the prints she was getting. Then she saw mine and was blown away by how much better they were. It's probably not as good as some other high end printers but I picked this up for $45 after rebates and it will work well for most people.
the only issue I had was the card reader on the printer did not fit the Fuji Xd card and the USB port did not read the Fuji camera. That's ok though. I print from my CPU anyways.
