Pros: high res., dual tray, 3.5 inch lcd screen, speed, sharp photos

Cons: no big black cartridge and cost

Summary: Overall this printer is excellent. Compared to the Epson's R340 it is much better and faster. On the Canon's ip6600D highest quality photo mode it printed from a memory card it took 1 minute to print a 4x6, while Epson's highest quality photo mode it took over 6 minutes to print a 4x6. What a big difference. With the 9600x4200 DPI my photos looked extremely sharp, compared to Epson's optimized 5770x1440 DPI it wasn't even close. You can look closely and see the sharpness the ip6600D printed, while the R340 looked a little grainy. Also the cost of the ink is much better. Canon's ink cost $15 each cartidge with 13ml and Epson's ink cost $17 each and had no indication of how much ml was in it. Compare for yourself. Bring you memory card into the store and print a 4x6 photo on the R340 in it's highest quality mode and I bet you can walk back to your car and walk back to the printer and it still will not be finish yet.

and there is no way in hell it takes 6 mins for the r340 to print a photo its slow but jesus a dot matrix printer could print a photo in 6 mintues... the r340 on a 4x6 on epson premuim paper takes little over a minute somewhere between 80-90 seconds.... the canon is faster at around 50 seconds.... you saying 6 minutes will really discredit your review because every consumer would think you are story teller my epson c66 which is like 6 or 7 years old doesnt even take that long lol

i imagine you read my review of Ip6600.... you are right in how slow the R340 is but the detail is much closer then your review states although the canon does have higher Res... Epsons print image matching is far superior to Canons... so i would tend to have a orageish red shirt in canons phots when my shirt was just red... the R340 has never done that... in some areas where great detail in the photo is the Canon is more detailed for sure but Epson is very close... and everyone who knows printers knows Pigmented ink the Epson uses is brighter and last longer...ive gotten very into printers now and digital cameras and i read alot.. the Dye ink that canon uses even though they say is 100+ life has never been proved.. and they are in court for thier 9600x4800 print head because they cant prove is res either... they are nice printers and do beautiful jobs... but the canon has broke on me and that makes any review worse i guess.. the epson is very dependable... and consumers should not listen to you wihtout trying it thier self becuase ive done 1000 tests now on print sample comparing on Canon Ip6600...the Hp 8250 ... and the Epson r340 .... and had customers choose the best ( i manage a Best buy) the HP is never picked haha it is bad ... the canon and epson always battle for top but a pic with lots of color in it always wins for epson... plus the photos that i printed on the Ip6600 that i deleted off my memory card which means i cant get them back have Faded ( not all but some have) after 8 months off not being in an album.. The Epson will never do that... it is slow much slower the Ip6600 but im ok with letting it print 30 photos while i drink a few beers and watch tv lol... I hope your happy with the Ip6600 because i sure am not... thankyou
