Pros: Print results are better than photo labs. Wide choice of paper sizes to utilize. Ink use seems less to me than most other printers. Good software. Easy to install. 8 individual ink containers so you don't waste ink with combined cartridges.

Cons: The paper handling mechanism is a bit fussy. It can pull your paper in crooked if you don't have it aligned up just right in the mechanism. I think this is an area Canon could improve upon.

Summary: I have only had this printer for a couple of weeks but have been extremely impressed with it's output. People can't believe my prints came from a printer and not a lab. I don't understand why people crab about ink usage. Yes, it is a professional grade photo printer and yes it will use ink. Compare the price to what you pay at photo labs and I think you will find you save money. Also add in fuel costs, travel time, etc. in the equation. I also don't understand the complaint about color accuracy. I personally have never seen more accurate printouts across a wide range of different papers. Perhaps you have a defective printer? Or maybe you have a bad ink cartridge?

I'm still learning how to use this printer. I am currently playing around with Adobe Essentials version 8 that came with the printer and have 9 on order. I have done very little modifications to my photos and the results have been astonishing. I can only imagine how much better they will be once start tweaking with the software.

Overall - with the rebate I hope to get, I find this printer is a bargain for what it does. I love having the convenience of being able to print anything from 4x6 prints up to 13x9 including using art paper without having to go out to a lab.

Now, all I need is more wall space. :)
