Pros Decent prints-when and if it works.

Cons Poor build quality. White borders in iPhoto.

Summary I've owned this printer for over 7 months. In that time I have printed a grand total of 10 pictures. I just finished trying to get the second "reconditioned" replacement from Canon to work. It will not--and I have had enough. After nearly two hours of trying to figure out how to make the printer "talk" to my computer--it's clear that I've got another lemon.
My original printer, printed decent photos. (although I was only able to print 10 before it died--a printhead error-it took Canon almost 6 weeks to repair/replace it-and the replacement was bad). The colors were fairly accurate and details sharp. But there is a problem printing "borderless" prints from iPhoto--there is a 1/4" white border on each end of the photo. Not exactly borderless. Nothing I have been able to find or adjust remedied the problem.
But, the biggest problem with this printer is quality. I currently own several Canon products--(3) cameras, (2) inkjet printers--all work well and have for quite awhile.
This is just a terrible product from Canon. Not up to their standards in any way. I've asked for a refund--doubt I will recieve it--fortunately this complete waste of money was only a waster of $150.00

  • "Used for almost 3 years--nice job"

Pros We use it only to print pictures--not hooked up at all to computer. It delivers superb prints, as good as what I can get from the photo stores.

Cons Ink is expensive UNLESS you get it online (ebay) and it is reasonable there

Summary Getting Premium paper on sale and Canon Ink from ebay, it costs us about 17 cents a print and it is the same quality as teh one hour photo. Used for over 3 years now. Not hooked up at all to computer. We just use our camera's photo card.

Pros good print quality and easy to use

    Cons replacement ink is expensive

  • "Never again!"

Pros cheap, ergonomic, fits on desk well1

Cons What part of BAD don't I understand?!

Summary This is my 3rd (count 'em, 3) replacement for this model in six months. Everyone had the exact same problem: dark blue/black inks bleed on to rest of print. The blue/black actually turns out bright purple/pink, Oh, it's not that it worked for awhile and then went bad. Save the first batch of prints from the first unit, all were bad. Just was so busy did not check until I actually had pics to print.

  • "awesome technology, high quality prints"
    on by Elewpier5

Pros easy use, many useful features, well-made precision quality feel

Cons non-Canon paper takes some fussing but fine with some adjustments. Third-party ink works well.

Summary quality of prints impressive, software easy to install and use, economical per print, card readers very handy as well as infrared/bluetooth. Great product for tech-savvy user but don't need to be one for excellent results. Very satisified and beats going out to pick up prints.
