  • "This printer is Junk!"
    0.5 stars
    on by ITguy4fun

Pros: Reasonably priced supplies and adequate picture quality for the ordinary user.

Cons: Defective product that the manufacturer won't even CONSIDER standing behind.

Summary: I bought this printer for light occasional use. I've printed 60 pictures and didn't even come close to using up the 200 printer pack I bought with it in a 20 month span and the paper feed has failed. I contacted Epson for some assistance with the repairs and they refused to consider assistance for the product beyond the twelve month warranty. Unbelievable!

I am not sure my printer is" junk," but I'm guessing it is not designed for merely occasional use. I have had the same experience--I got about 70 photos before the inkpak needed replacing during my first stretch of owning the Picturemate Dash--which was recommended by the Computer Guys on WAMU. I tried again--got a new inkpack. Got fewer photos out of it, and one refused to print well. But I was too busy to call Epson and go through the process of getting a new, free inkpack and so had to buy a new one myself. Now, I've not used my printer for maybe 9 months, and the photo I tried to print came out badly. But I couldn't clean the nozzles without buying a new inkpack, even though I've probably only printed about 10 photos with the one in my printer. So--perhaps the printer is fine if you regularly print photos but not if you print a few every few months.
