"Very good picture quality at a really great price" on by forkboy

Pros: Very good picture quality; fantastic set-up directions and basic user's manual

    Cons: Doesn't include USB cable

Summary: (caveat: I've only had this printer for a short while and haven't yet explored all it's features and software options, so this is an abbreviated review)

Purchased as first photo printer because: a) recommendation by Consumer Reports, and b) it was on sale at local major consumer electronics retailer.

I thought the getting started directions were very, very well written. Plenty of pictures, clear & concise directions. Includes Basics user manual which covers an awful lot (seems way more than just 'basic'). Documentation like this is rare these days with consumer electronics.

Printed from both memory card and from computer: very satisfied with results. Thought color rendering was accurate and not too warm. I didn't notice any grain when compared to pictures I recently had done at a local camera shop (using Fuji equipment). Level of detail wasn't up the the camera shop's equipment, but difference was minimal and may have been adjustable if I had a chance to try the included ArcSoft PhotoImpressions software (a nice freebie).

Prints quickly and pretty quietly. Love the additional input for USB media.

Only disappointment is that it didn't come with a USB cable for connection to the computer. I know....everyone does this these days. Do yourself a favor: forget the major consumer electronics stores for your cable needs and try the folks at one of your local all-in-one retailers (like the bullseye folks). The big consumer electronics stores are trying to sell you high end stuff that you really don't need at all.

"Excellent Photo Printer" on by richard_s_burton

Pros: Great photos, better than previous epson photo printers, best photo lifetimes

Cons: Cropping does cut part of photo edges off, no bluetooth or wireless built in, little noisy

Summary: I was hesitant to buy since ink was new and possibly would have worse image retention and quality. I did some research and found that the new ink has one of the longest retention times and greater than HP! >90 years. Don't waste money on a dye sublimation printer, this is one of the best and EASY to use. Found best price at COSTCO on-line and Costco provides lifetime warranty!

Having a photo printer in additon to a multifunction printer is convient. $100 is a great deal for the convience and photos are better than on-line services, Target, Wal-mart, etc. Check with recent Consumer Reports.

    Love It
