"Best personal photo printer on the market" on by peanut1964

Pros: Unbelievable picture quality, impressive speed, portability

Cons: Slightly on the noisy side during ink prep

Summary: Being an amateur underwater photographer, I really wanted and needed a dedicated photo printer versus an all-in-one. I also wanted something portable. I have a Dell all-in-one that prints beautiful pictures too, but it's not portable and it's extremely bulky for my small office. The PictureMate Snap is exactly what I hoped it would be. It prints the best quality pictures in 45 seconds or less. And unlike the pictures I printed from my Dell, I don't have to dry them overnight. They can be shared immediately without worrying about scratches or smudges.

Setup was simple. Plug it in. Open the top. Turn it on. Insert the inkpack. Insert the paper. Start printing to your heart's content. I printed my first picture within 5 minutes of opening the box. I only had to wait for the ink to load. I found that process to be very noisy but the printing itself is much quieter.

Using the printer was even easier. There's an instruction manual somewhere on my desk but I haven't had to use it yet. It's intuitively simple to use.

For scrapbookers out there, this is the perfect printer to take to crop-aways to print last minutes pics, or to reprint pics when we get too clever with the scissors and shape makers.

Finally, a quick but quality way to get all those digital images off the camera and into our photo albums without trekking to Walmart to use the Kodak kiosk!

    A+ to Epson.
