"Expensive to keep running" on by ABCarr56
Pros: Beautiful output quality when working properly
Cons: Purchased the R1800 around 4 years ago, but haven't used it for maybe a year due to ink being low and having other printers. Recently re-inked (@ $120 or more) and had poor output due to clogged nozzles (not unexpected).
Summary: Required 10-12 cleaning cycles to clear nozzles, using 75% of new ink in doing so. This is ridiculous....it has cost me $100 to get this thing working again. I guess the bottom line with the R1800 is "use it or lose it"......don't let it sit idle for any length of time, or you'll burn up a set of ink carts cleaning it (they are foolishly small and expensive, by the way).
