Pros Excellent photo printg, CD/DVD cover printg input a +, and, responding to the negative comments, if you use Premium ink cartridges ordered directly from Epson, they last long & cost the same(or less) as Standard from all office supply stores/sites.
Cons Black, shiny design is a dust magnet. Sometimes, when I choose to print 8x10 photos borderless, it still gives me a slight border. Since this also happens with my 2 other printrs, I am not going to let it affect my rating, may be my photo program.
Summary A great printer that effortlessy does a beautiful job on all my printing needs. It comes with a separate tray where you can place a CD/DVD, then insert and it prints a perfect cover onto the disc. A big + for many of us who like to use CD/DVD covers, especially for business presentations or creative burns.
I agree that if you print a lot of photos like I do it will quickly drain the Standard ink cartridges, but it directs you to the Epson site when ink is low, and after ignoring it for some time and buying my ink from a mega office supply store, finally, I went to the site, found that they had a Premium version of the ink, which most stores do not sell, and it now the ink lasts longer, and is equal in cost to Standard.
Cheers to Epson, and a lesson learned that it is always important to check ALL your options when you shop(and before you make negative comments).
It has a beautiful sleek design, paper feeds straight and prints smooth, holds a lot of paper, including photo paper, disc printing tray is great to use, though a little slow. I got mine at a great price(under $40.00). Paper trays and feeds all close up snugly for a nice compact presence when not in use. It is my printer of preference. Much better than my Lexmark and Dell, and solidly made. Mine also came with some great photo imaging programs via disc.
Pros It has the ability to print directly onto CDs.
Prints nice photos.
It has six different ink cartridges, so you only replace the color that runs out.
Cons Black printing quality is lousy. It often leaves streaks in the printing. These are corrected after running a cleaning cycle, but start again after a couple pages. Ink cartridges contain very little ink and cost nearly $100 to replace them all.
Summary I purchased this printer because it was actually free after rebate. I had heard that Epson printers printed good quality photos. Actually, the photos I did print looked very well. The problem is when I just need to print black, the print quality is very poor. About half the time I print a black text only document (a letter) it leaves streaks on the page. These are normally cleared up after running a cleaning cycle or two, but it only lasts for a couple pages, then starts leaving streaks again. The streaks I am talking about run horizontal across the text. I have checked the printhead to make sure it is free of debris and am using genuine Epson cartridges. It seems to be a design problem with the printer, or possibly just something defective with mine. When printing photos, it prints great. The other downside to the printer is how quickly it runs through ink. The new Claria cartridges have less ink than any other ink cartridge I've seen. I guess because of the microscopic ink drop size, its supposed to use less ink per page, but in reality less ink per cartridge means less pages per cartridge, which means you're running out to by more ink more often. I haven't printed a CD yet on this printer, though I have used an R260 before that printed CDs well. Bottom line, if all you want to do is print photos and money is no object, then this could be the printer for you. But if you plan you print a range of documents I would look elsewhere.
Pros Very sharp photos
Cons Supplied ink cartridges have very little ink
Summary I just love how the CD's come out. I had no problems at all, and have no idea why these others have such a low opinin, maybe they were to much in a hurry to read the instruction book. As with most any printer that you buy it comes with cartridges that have very little ink in them. Once I put in some new cartridges at a cost of $90.00 for a ful set I have had no issues with ink. Unlike the HP inks I have in my other printer these inks are water proof, meaning that if they get a wet finger, or a water drop on them the ink won't run off. I can't rate it higher than a 7 simply because this is a low end model, but for the initial cost it is worth it. I would like to see a little more intuitive software for the CD printing.
Pros fair quality
Cons Nearly impossible to troubleshoot
Summary Decent printer for the price -- but don't expect the best thing in the world.
Biggest problem is that there is NO output on the printer itself. When there's a problem, it is very difficult to determine what is really going on. The printer monitor software usually defaults to "check all connections and make sure all device are on" -- no matter what the problem is.Decent printer for the price -- but don't expect the best thing in the world.

Pros Photo printing was decent
Cons Ran through ink like crazy...wouldn't let you print B&W if color ink ran out...wonky seemingly all the time...
Summary I don't recommend this printer at all...even if you can get it cheap the ink will drain your wallet...
