Pros: Fantastic quality, border-less printing, embedded USB2.0 card reader

Cons: Takes almost 1min to turn on.

    Summary: General view:

I bought this printer a few months ago, and I am really happy. Pictures have plenty of resolution (with 8Mpix files). One advice: when printing set the printer's "on-board" brightness settings to "brightest", leave the rest as it is, results will please you more. Specially great for printing sunny pictures. Some times dark shadows can turn a bit green and try not to watch the prints under a "white-light" fluorescent lamp or the colors will look weird. One more valuable advice: try to always buy Epson photographic paper for best results, as a semi-professional photographer I can say that Epson paper is much better than others like HP. Epson paper really looks like "true" photo paper while HP does not. Also don't forget that Epson has embeded the color profiles for the combinations of their inks and their papers. So remember: EpsonPrinter+EpsonInk+EpsonPaper= Best Results. Also don't forget to do regular cartridge-alignments.

I havn't yet tried out the CD/DVD printing.

    In depth view:

If you are a quality obsessed like me, then you may see some noise (under magnifying glass) in the darker areas and quality may look a bit poorer at paper borders when printing in BorderLess mode so try to print leaving margins when possible to obtain optimum results. Obviously this last paragraph's details are almost undetectable, only if you watch the pictures really near and sometimes with a magnifying glass.

    Overall: a great choice.

Hi, This is to add to my previous review one thing I just discovered an hour ago. You can insert a memory card into any of the slots, the plug in the front USB port an esternal usb drive (CD-R, ZIP drive, etc), press the "direct save" button on the printer and it will automatically copy all pictures in the memory card to the external drive. All that with no need to use a computer. I have read that it may not work with all recorders but it worked with mine (LaCie DVD+-RW 16x external usb drive). Later, you can plug that drive, insert the disc into the drive, and you can print the files which are on the CD directly through USB (It takes over 30secs to detect the files on the CD).

So it does in fact Read MS,CF,SD,MD,SM AND CDs.

Great if you don't want to switch your computer on or if you want to print thousands of pictures without the need of the computer.
