Pros

Nice looking print lines when you can get it to work.

Cons

-Requires that you buy color print heads and cartriges even if you only print in black and white! HP no longer makes a monochrome plotter!
-No replot button! Every print must be sent from the computer.
-Print driver is slow
-Came with bad cartriges

Summary

I bought this straight from HP. They told me that I could use it with just the black cartridges. Untrue! you have to install all print cartridges and print heads for it to work. This is my third HP plotter. They break after about 5 years and you then have ... Read full review

I bought this straight from HP. They told me that I could use it with just the black cartridges. Untrue! you have to install all print cartridges and print heads for it to work. This is my third HP plotter. They break after about 5 years and you then have to buy a new once because they no longer make parts for old units.
One bad cartridge will bring this unit to a hault. Cartriges and print heads are expensive too!
Avoid if possible.

Also runs very hot.
You cannot unplug to save energy becuse the print heads will clog (I'm not kidding)
It even makes annoying sounds.

"Nothing but problem after problem"

Pros

Does print well when you can get it to print, automatic cutter works good.

Cons

Takes forever to initialize, very difficult to use interface buttons & the feeder just plain sucks. Evertime I put on a new roll I spend hours trying to get the printer to continue printing, prints the first page then stops says it out of paper...

Summary

Would not recommend any spending the money unless you don't plan on buying the feeder option. I have tried doing the maintenance, blowing off the sensors with pressurized air and so forth and it just does not want to cooperate.
