"HP's budget printers have really gone downhill" on
Pros: compact size, folding paper tray
Cons: basically stops working after a while, or never works in the first place. I'm already on my 3rd one at work (unfortunately it's the only one we can afford)

"Great printer" on by Alex_Gavenus
Pros: Everything
Cons: Data send timeout, carriage lock controlled by rollers
Summary: I got this wonderful printer second-handed from a friend. She loved it, and now I love it. I use it to print pretty much everything i do in DOS so in case i screw up my 386 i can fix it. My 386 does not run Windows, so when I print, if it is a multipage report, i have to wait for the first pages, then the data timeout, then press the resume button. That is my only gripe. That and my back door latch has fallen out, so I have to constantly put duck tape on it. (my roll really says "duck tape").
One more gripe: the Carriage Lock is controlled by the Rollers, so I cant change ink on the fly. It has to eject the current page, reengage the Carriage Lock, and then clean. Then, it can disengage the Carriage Lock, and then go back to printing (if I have put that page back in face down, printed part toward back). I also like it's sounds. -
"died after minimal use" on by Irish Hermit
Pros: cheap price equals ...
Cons: ... cheap quality
Summary: Like a previous user, after minimal use (one or two times a week), it died after changing the ink cartridges. Check Google for HP 3280 and you'll find lots of horror stories. Put me of HP, next printer will most likely be a Canon.

"Too soon to malfulction" on
Pros: OK qualigy
Cons: This thing went dead after two years of rare usage. The help desk suggests me buy a new one than repair it because the cost is about the same? It's a shame that a look like brand new rarely used printer went dead.

"Software no workie on Windows 2003" on
Pros: None.
Cons: Ink is expensive, latest download doesn't work on Windows 2003, jams a lot.
