Summary: I have to echo the opinion of another reviewer regarding the broken plastic stub on the color ink cartridge carrier. This is exactly what happened in my case. It is the only thing that keeps a wire spring in place. Once it is broken the driver software will alert you to an error with the color cartridge. In my case, the exposed wire poked a hole into a piece of circuitry which rendered the printer useless. Brought down by a small piece of plastic. This is a bad investment. Buyer beware!

Wow! This is unbelievable! The exact same thing just happened to me with the wire poking through the circuitry, except with the black cartridge. Tried looking for a replacement part but HP doesn't sell it and the ones I found are about the same price as a new printer.
