"Complete garbage"

Pros

On the rare occasion that they work, they print very fast and have nice crisp images and text.

Cons

Everything except the above.

I had purchased dozens of these for the company with which I work. We quickly discovered that the Officejet Pro line of HP printers, as well as most of the other lines of HP printers these days, have sunk almost as low as they can go. The HP printers that I've ordered over the last 3 years for my company have all been incredibly disappointing. This particular series constantly fails. They jam up regularly. The print heads fail constantly and cost $70 to replace. HP support is the next thing to worthless and even if you get them to send replacement parts, the replacements are as bad as the originals. The ink cartridges leak and there are literally about 10 other problems that we regularly have with these printers. Do yourself a favor and stop buying HP printers altogether. They saw their glory days back in the 80s and 90s. Now since they've outsourced everything, the printers are awful. Find another brand quick!

"Utterly useless device - waste of money!"

0.5 stars  | on by Peter L Julian

Pros

While it worked, which was not long, it was quite fast

Cons

Failed completely after about a year. While it worked it was very slow to start up, and jammed frequently. This would probably be the worst piece of office equipment I have ever purchased in over 30 years of buying such items.

Summary

I find it amazing that HP, once a great company, would release such utter junk to the marketplace. It is obviously a sign of a company in rapid decline, given the number of poor reviews of many of their types of office equipment. I won't be buying another piece ... Read full review

I find it amazing that HP, once a great company, would release such utter junk to the marketplace. It is obviously a sign of a company in rapid decline, given the number of poor reviews of many of their types of office equipment. I won't be buying another piece of HP office equipment, when firms like Apple, ASUS, etc produce superior products, with better R&D, quality control, and testing prior to release.

"Seriously, don't buy one of these."

Pros

None whatsoever.

Cons

Basically doesn't work. Main problem is with paper feed which has real problems finding paper. Also needed new print head after 3 weeks!!!! Constantly adjusting its alignment- takes ages to actually print things.

I had one of these and had to stop using after a few nonths because paper feed stopped completely and was unfixable. Asked purchasing department to get me a new printer- they bought me another identical one which failed in 6 weeks. I am not a heavy user so this ... Read full review

I had one of these and had to stop using after a few nonths because paper feed stopped completely and was unfixable. Asked purchasing department to get me a new printer- they bought me another identical one which failed in 6 weeks. I am not a heavy user so this is dreadful.
In any case, even when they were working they were slow (constantly aligning themselves) and ate print heads. Every time they worked it was a minor triumph but these ocassions were rare.
I've ordered a laser printer because I'm so disenchanted with inkjet technology of any type.

This is first time I'ver ever writeen an online review but just want to warn others to stay clear of what is the worst product it has ever been my displeasure to own. Instead of buying one just pull up a list on CNET, randomly point at any other one and buy that instead- it will definitely be better than a HP 8000.
