eats up inkSummary: Have used HP for years, along with Canon and Epson inkjets. I got this particular printer from a rewards program in order to use it as a photo printer. First printer was sent back - Cartridge wasn't detected. Now, I'm no noob - I gave it a good shake, troubleshot the problem for a WEEK - searched forums, HP support, new cartridges, reset the printer - NOTHING. Sent it back, got a new one. On the new one, the duplexer doesn't work. I tried to print photos on it, using the specialty photo tray - it spit out the paper, and proceeded to spray the inside of the printer with ink. I am NOT IMPRESSED with the build quality.
On the software side, drivers take 45 minutes to install. Yes, you heard that right. Plus, it basically installs ads to buy HP branded cartridges, paper etc. If you do decide to buy HP, make sure to download the basic drivers - they're only 34 Mb /sarcasm
I am sorely disappointed with HP. I am a previous owner of a 955C, and I loved it. I've used Brother lasers, great product, and Canon Pixma and Epson products. Never have I had so much problems with a product as with this HP printer.
The verdict: Is it worth your valuable time to track down a problem, since there will be a problem? NO
