Pros: great prints

Cons: ink runs out too quickly

Summary: I switched over to this HP printer from my Epson 2200 and 1280. Both stopped making beautiful prints and i couldn't find anyone in New York who could fix my printing problems. I ended up buying this HP as a replacement. beautiful prints, prints to edge. i couldn't be happier. The price doesn't suck either in comparison the epson. Not sure if the prints are archival as that is not what I'm using for.

GRAPHIC DESIGN:
Some small type plugs up as well as art, but I'm using staples double sided matt paper, not gloss (which might do better)..

"Very Tempermental. Does not print all documents." on October 23, 2008 by willeyram

Pros: Ability to print 11x17 documents.

Cons: Inability to print most documents. It will print most text documents, but the moment that I try to send a picture or anything of any file size, it blinks at me for a while and then just goes back to normal. Never spits out my job.

Summary: I have spent countless hours on the phone with HP over in some other country that does not speak English too well. I have reinstalled the drivers I don't know how many times. Everytime I would call back, a different person would make me reinstall the drivers. Then one of their guys told me that it was a problem with MS Excel. That was the last straw. I knew it was hopeless to go any farther. So I have learned my lesson. Please Beware! Until better drivers are released, this printer is not suitable for what it is built to do.

Pros: 4x6 photos print great But that's about it.

Cons: Cannot print 11x17 or 13 x 19 photos. Prints an inch or two then spits out the paper, so expensive photo paper ends up trashed. So frustrating!
Print quality is terrible for normal documents. Forget about HP tech support.

Summary: Purchased this printer for it's large format feature, but it doesn't print the enire document or photo. Also, note that HP incorrectly lists the HP101 Blue Photo cartridge as compatible with this printer. After two weeks of emails, tech support finally said that it is NOT. Save your money and research other printers before you purchase this one.

Pros: Beautiful prints every time. Wide range of print sizes possible. Perfect for hobby photographer.

Cons: Feeder trays not intuitive. Had printer for over a year before I got smart enough to look up the user manual on-line. Best of many color printers I've had. Only thing that would make it better would be if it was wireless.
