"Best printer I have ever owned"
Pros: Beautiful photos and fast, crisp text. Inexpensive ink. Useful paper options. Easy to use.
Cons: Best with Canon paper. Prints might fade.
Summary: I have owned many printers from lasers to dedicated photo printers, and this one is the best printer I have used, outshining ones that cost much more. Using Canon Photo Paper Pro, borderless pictures look they came straight from a photo lab. Black text flies out of the printer and looks like it came from a laser printer.
The little extras that come with this printer are also very useful. Keeping regular paper in the bottom tray and using the top feeder for photo paper eliminates the hassle of paper switching. By using the duplex mode I am using a lot less paper than I used to, and the ink cost per page is less than my old laser and inkjet printers. The included software makes the printer very easy to use.
So far I have seen none of the problems I have had with other inkjets, like paper feed problems. I am concerned about fading because I have had that problem with other printers using similar inks, but I haven't had the printer long enough to know how much of an issue this will be.
