Summary: While two 250GB drives may be cheaper, having 500GB in a single drive is very convenient. The 7200.9 is quiet, fast and cool.

Description: This Seagate Barracuda Internal EIDE Ultra ATA/100 is a 160GB, standard hard disk drive.Compared to other standard hard drives on the market, it is midpriced at around $175.Compared to a typical hard drive, its maximum internal data transfer rate of 85.4 MBps is fairly standard.Its burst transfer rate is 100 MBps.This is a 7200 rpm drive and has an 8MB buffer.

Pros: Has a 5 year warranty, which is considerably more favorable than some similarly priced hard drives.

Cons: None noted, given available product data.

Suitability: Suitable for replacement or upgrade on many desktop PCs or workstations.

Value: Overall, this hard drive has good features for the money.On the other hand, you would usually pay around 25% less to get a standard hard drive with a comparable data transfer rate.
