"Very solid hard drive" By andyd103

Pros: Solid drive
Reliable
i have over 44,000 hours on mine now and its still good
drive has seen a whopping 2 TB's of data, written and deleted off of it in the last 5 or so years, that is the equivalent to being reformatted over 22 times, when full.

Cons: Slow as anything compared to my new deskstars. (2TB)

Summary: Amazing hard drive, seen more mistreatment and use than any hard drive should have to endure.

Pros: The drive is very reliable, runs well, quiet, and very smooth. It also has a very low price for what you get.

Cons: You sacrifice some speed here. Even with an onboard 8 MB of cache, the drive does not run as fast as some I have tried.

Summary: Here we go: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies bought IBM's hard drive division. HGST is an outstanding company with a strong background in manufacturing quality products.
