"Great SSD, big performance bang for laptop"
on by Doh_1Pros Makes the speed of my laptop at least as good as my 2008 quad-core desktop (which also has SSD). Faster than I expected.
Cons Less expensive than my previous Intel SSD that's in my desktop system, but still a little on the high side.
Summary This SSD went into a Dell XPS 17 L702X, and really helps performance. Boots very quickly, and everything comes up quickly and runs well. Had an easy installation experience using "Paragon Migrate OS to SSD", which, it is said, takes care of partition alignment. Took about 5 minutes to transfer the contents of my C: drive to the SSD, and then rebooted and the laptop was running off the SSD. Of course, I had kept the C: drive lean, since there is another 500GB hard drive, and I knew that I was going to put in an SSD very early on.
Very happy with the performance boost, best bang for the buck as far as performance upgrades go. And the SSD has been reliable for about 4 months now, no problems, just excellent performance.
