"Crapped out just after year warranty."

0.5 stars  | on by matthewneuzil

Pros

Was fine for about half year.

Cons

Started getting slower after 6 months. Booting up and shutting down became slower. People talk about bad sectors. I don't know how to check this but i imagine i had similar problems. This hard drive died just weeks after my warranty. Awesome!

Summary

Don't buy this hard drive. or toshiba.

Pros

When it was new just over a year ago it was fast enough and certainly a good size at 250Gb

Cons

The drive has died after playing up for the last two or three weeks. It could take two or three attempts before it would respond and the PC boot - prior to that it had also been getting slower and slower with bad sectors all over it.

I have decided to go for a Western Digital replacement as my experience of them is that they are well built, very reliable, and fast.

Cons

But for some reason this hard drive by Toshiba got worse as the months went on, it ended up developing bad sectors and started to run slow, and to top it off, the drive was only 1 year old, it came with my laptop so i had no choice at the time to just dea
