Pros Durable, Fast transfer (eSATA), Small (fits in my pocket)
USB is slow for large files.
Summary My group bought 4 of these last month. I was lucky enough to get one. Last year I went through two expensive data recovery operations on two different "shock resistant" hard drives. My job entails transfer of recorded music followed by hasty moves where my stuff is sometimes abused. So far this has taken the abuse well partly bc if you drop it there are no moving parts and also because I just keep it in a jecket pocket or cargo pants instead of having to stash it in a bag. The other amazing thing is that when you hold it in your hand it feels empty. When I first got it I thought there was mistake it was so light.
The stats above for transfer speed are correct. I am normally tranfering 2-4 GBs at a time and always have no problems.
USB, where is the firewire? Macs just got firewire back people...
Expensive, but in my case if it lasts one year less expensive than data recovery.
If they can get 128GB in there can they get bluetooth or some other wireless interface for future models?
Amazing little gadget here.
