  • "Don't expect to get the rebate"

Summary: Don't expect to get the rebate especially if you buy online. I bought this drive expecting a $30 rebate (otherwise it would have been too expensive). I was in a rush to fix my hardware, so I didn't bother looking for a rebate form. I planned on downloading it from WD's site. You can't get it on line. If you buy online, don't expect to get the rebate form in time to send it in. I now will have to drive 40min one way just to get the rebate form. If Compusa didn't charge a 15% restocking fee, I would return the drive and buy one online for less money. This review is not about the drive, but the lousy tactics of WD.
