Description: The Western Digital Raptor 150 is a 150GB, workstation class hard disk drive.Compared to other workstation class hard drives on the market, it is midpriced at around $225.Compared to a typical hard drive, its maximum internal data transfer rate of 102 MBps is moderately fast (this is the rate at which the drive actually reads data from the disk surface).Its burst transfer rate is 150 MBps.This is a 10000 rpm drive and comes with a 16MB buffer.

Pros: Has a 16MB buffer, which is larger than some similarly priced hard drives.Also, this hard drive has a 5 year warranty, which is considerably more favorable than some similarly priced hard drives.

Cons: None noted, given available product data.

Suitability: Ideal for those who need an industrial strength storage solution. Fits in a standard 3.5" drive bay.This drive accepts not only a SATA power connector, but also an IDE power connector, making it easier to install in conventional PCs (it still requires that you install a Serial ATA controller card, of course).
