The worst customer service of any technical organization I have ever experienced
Fraudulent billing practices where phantom charges and services end up on bill.
Summary: There was a time when Hostway was - hands down - the best service out there. That time is long past. Unless you have a casual personal website that you like family to vie weekday afternoons, you would be foolish to trust Hostway. All services experience difficulty at a rate 5 times as frequent as other Hosts ( I also use two other firms to host websites, at this point, so have a very valid comparison). Most frustrating of all is the customer service, which is non-existent. You can spend hours onthe phone, dialing and on hold. Whether 3 a.m. or 3 p.m., I have received a hold message stating that my wait time would be 40+ minutes. This is unacceptable. I would emphatically discourage anyone from doing business with Hostway. Tomorrow, I remove all remaining services from their control. My total expenditure used to be $1000+ per year, with Hostway. As of tomorrow it will be zero. But this will matter little, s 100% of their efforts are based on recruiting new sites, not maintaining old ones. Run the other way if you can.
