"if signed on with roadrunner, do not download."
on by probmanPros none, none
Cons back to dialup, will not allow to send email attachments
Summary do not wait for support, hope Roadrunner can come through. Really slowed down vista machine. At this point using 1999 windows machine since ca 2007 slowed new vista machine. Not even able to sign on the Roadrunner help page any longer. Admit I do not understand vista and am sure there is a logical way around this ca 2007 problem. Just do not know it yet.

"Questionable ability"
on by oldsergPros Easy to update
Cons Questionable ability to stop trojans and viruses
Summary I have had this product for over a year. Up to now I have trusted its ability to stop Viruses and Trojans. Now my trust is broken. On a computer being scanned every morning with new updates prior to scans it made a mess of the computer by infection. I will have to Fdisk, reformat and reinstall everything again. Nothing has removed the trojans, downloaders, viruses, keyloggers off the system. I have tried 3 spyware and 2 Anti-virus softwares to remedy the infections.

"Can't uninstall."
on by Angrywith CAPros Installed OK, but want to change.
Cons Conflicts with ZoneAlarm installation. CA won't uninstall.
Summary I think it is ridiculous that a program can not be removed from my computer. I am told I must sign on as Administrator. I did, and got the same response. My only option is to renew, which I don't want.
PLEASE, how do I get rid of CA? -
"Easy to use, but slow"
on by lcseiler345Pros Simple, easy-to-use interface.
Cons Slow on real-time and on-demand scanning
Summary I've used CA's antivirus products for a number of years and a number of name changes. It's always been a speedy, reliable piece of software for me. A year or so ago, I tried a few others and then came back to CA. The new interface was slicker and more professional. But after having used it for six months or so, I'm finding that it's getting progressively slower, both in terms of on-demand scans (which now take over 24 hours). Its real-time scanner is also interfering with common tasks such as checking email in Thunderbird--it can frequently pause Thunderbird for several minutes. Temporarily disabling CA Antivirus real-time scanning makes everything speed up dramatically. I think I'll be shopping for anti-virus software as soon as this license period is up.

"Awful Awful Awful"

Cons Customer service!
Summary I have had nothing but trouble ever since I put this program on my computer. I had to uninstall it 3 times! I tried to contact customer service, but they charge $19.95 to speak to someone on the phone - DISGRACEFUL! I did their free on-line chat support twice (the directions from the first person required me to reboot my computer, which obviously lost the connection). The first time, I waited 45 minutes for a representative to be available; the second time (in the same night, by the way), I waited over an hour. And even now, websites on my computer do not fully load properly (the new comcast.net, for example has a black screen in the place where the headlines should be), and I cannot watch video. I did not have any of these problems before I installed the CA Antivirus program. I have sent a letter to the company to complain about their customer support and told them I would never use their products again.
