Pros C.A. Once were the best.

Cons Now act as con artists

Summary I bought Etust antivirus & Pest Patrol in a CDN store. (Wanted to own/possess these softies) based on CA historical performances some 5 years back. Pest Patrol installing proggy skipped the installation of a few important files (An INI 4 instance) and was unable to launch at reboot. I paid $30USD for CA online techelp and moved that INI from C:\Windows\Temp to Pest Patrol folder to get the softy going. But Etrust was unable to detect/neutralize some 4 virus and Pest Patrol missed some 6 trojan /malwares that AVAST took care of efficiently.
While trying to resolve this issue, CA techelp appear to have given up my personal ISP email address to their "Partners/Associates" DigitalRiver and I now receive SPAMVERTIZEMENT for "Corel" bargains.
I will return all CA softies and file a formal complaint at the store head office as well as at the BBBureau.
CA fix their management strategy so that none can be reached in North America but only in "Law-Loose" countries such as India's free toll number.
SCAMMER type of behavior! DigitalRiver Alias server is located on TWTelecom where a known & recognized malware distribution website is also located : www.mirasearch.com speudo toolbar. A google search confirms the latter. If proofs are required, I can provide.

    Updated
And it appears that its been more than a while that Times Watner Telecom (Ex-AOL) host mirarsearch.com website that distributes the malware mentionned on many, many websites. It just doesn't make any sense that TWTelecom abuse team never received a complaint. TWTelecom thus support that type of activities. As well, since the related infos on this case are easily tracable through Google, I dont find suitable that a software company dedicated to computer protection such as (Computer Associates/DigitalRivers partners) can live on a network that distribute the Mirar malware. Baring in mind that I bought Pest Patrol in a computer store, had contact through email with CA tech. support to found out that CA transmitted my personnal email addy to DigitalRiver as stated in DigitalRiver email advertisement thereafter.
Peoples sure need abuse protection softies but from "Trustable" companies that is ! :)

This is it, archived infos are readily availables.

    Pros Fast scanning

Cons Not as effective as some

Summary This a reasonable product, very simple to use, reasonably priced and has very quick scanning, one of the good features it has is real-time scanning and it also checks and auto-updates frequently

as a stand alone anti-spyware app it falls a little short and I would advise having additional anti-spyware software.
