"Support (Renewal) Lousy; Pricing All Over the Place!"0.5 starson by dennphill
Pros: All in one product. I, for one, have had little adverse experience over the past few years with 360. BUT SEE COMMENTS ON PRICING BELOW.
Cons: I guess maybe tech support may be OK. Sales or Customer support, on the other hand is horrendous - trying to get them is nearly impossible. Pricing for Renewal (older version) is way more than new product! (Prompting this review, because I couldn't con
Summary: OK, forgetting the horrid problems a few years ago when my Norton Antivirus and Internet Security Suite were suddenly 'no longer supported' by Symantic and I was offered 360 as an option - only to find lower pricing on their site shortly after my purchase. I complained loudly, but they would only credit me by extending the subscription. Fast forward past last year's automatic renewal (also with promo pricing less than renew fee...but I was lazy and didn't pursue it), and this year I am scheduled for renewal for $69.99 for 360 ver18.104.22.168 in early April 2011. I see today on their site pricing for Norton 360 ver5 for $39.99 (after $40 rebate)! Support? Their "Nathan" Help App: Worthless for this issue. Call (phone) support: Put me on hold for over an hour, or schedule a call for 17 hours later - midnight to 1:00 AM! Email support: REQUIRES a Product Key Number - NOT easily recoverable (no instruction how to), Can't SEND an email without that. So I stopped my automatic renewal. If no contact and new pricing offer, I will look elsewhere - MacAfee or MS, if I have to, to spite Symantic even if not as good. Oh, to confound the pricing issue?as a current subscriber (logged in) I see offers for Norton 360 ver5 for one year at $59.99 or two years for $114.99. Why let me renew ver4 at $69.99 unless they just think I'm stupid (or lazy). I am pretty lazy, but with bad support and very poor customer care, I will take 360 off my computers and install an other product.
