"cnet sponsor gets an "excellent" review."
1.0 starson by gregorymcdanielPros: I can't rate it as I haven't installed it yet.
Cons: If you have time left on your 2008 subscription, Live Update won't upgrade you as it did for the 2007-to-2008 upgrade.
The online chat support is and has always been a tremendous waste of time.Summary:
Rating as one star for its poor upgrade experience as compared to the 2007-to-2008 upgrade. You have to know that downloading and installing trialware--outside the LiveUpdate system--will result in a licensed version installed. Norton's site only suggests that you will have to pay $50 for the 2009 version to get it, even if you say you're upgrading from 2008 NIS.

Waaah! I can't figure out how to upgrade except at full price. Waaah!
Don't review what you haven't tried. -
Why would you rate it LOW if you haven't installed it yet? That just goes to show how you are. A complete ignorant.

ou can upgrade to NIS 2009 for free if you already have a valid subscription for NIS 2008. I had NIS 2008 & I installed NIS 2009 trialware. It automatically picked up my NIS 2008 key during installation & gave me the 4 months I had left on NIS 2008. What are you talking about. Just download the NIS 2009 trialware & install it. It will give you the no. of days you had in the old version.

After installing NIS 2009, you are prompted for a subscription keycode. The remainder of your current 2008 subscription is easily transferred forward by simply entering the keycode from your 2008 installation disc.

Why rate it 1 if you have not installed it yet??? Just go get the 2009 version and install it. It will use the same key (2008) and give your subscription days back. I did the same thing. Install it and you will know the difference!!
