"Excellent at consumer point of view."
Pros: Excellent at first glampse
Cons: Because Cnet cant be bothered reviewing this product, no-one knows what faults it might have.
Summary: This product is leaps and bounds ahead of its 2005 version. I don't know what is taking the idiots at CNET so long to review this product. It's interface has been improved, it now detects PUP's along with Mcafee and Norton in realtime.
Overall, I don't know how good the functions are compared to Mcafee's (They're was ahead of Nortons)But it definately looks like a step in the right direction. The non hogging of system resources and the compatability with Prior versions of Windows, along with an excellent price tag cheaper than that of the competition, should see this product wipe Norton of the market.
Unfortunately many people are still to narrow minded to leave Norton and respect them for whatever garbage they release. In any security situation Trend Micro or Mcafee are what you should turn to. Zone Alarm is overrated and annoying, and Norton is bloated rubbish.
Hurry Up CNET and do a proper review of this product!!

I just downloaded the Trial Version the other day; and I am really impressed so far!!! I just bought a new computer with 2g of memory; I have 3 desktops and 2 laptops on my Home Network and I was so tired of Norton; it's like I got stuck in a Ditch and had a hard time diggin out. So my renewal came up 2 months ago for my Norton Internet Security, Antivirus & Systemworks and I decided not to renew and look to other products. I asked a lot of people and read a lot of reviews and everyone who had some if not not extensive knowledge about computers said GET OUT OF THE NORTON HOLE!!! Most told me to Try Trend Micro and a few Zone Alarm. Well after 1 week of the trial I am going for it. At first I was surprised that some of the features were disabled; but to be honest I am now glad they were; because I customized each to my network and preferences and am very happy with it. In my opinion I think it's a good idea to keep certain options disabled; because there are a lot of computer users who don't have a clue about security software and let the program run their computer (like Norton). This way the User who is unfamiliar will learn a lot about their system and security as they go thru each step in setting up the security. Put it this way if I didn't already know about these features it would have been a very good teacher. So I personally think it's a good idea for a new user.
I read that others had problems with the firewall in 2006; So far I haven't encountered any problems on my whole network and am very happy with it; obviously or I wouldn't be buying it. Also although I haven't used Support yet; it's really nice to know they have good phone support. Nothing is worse than Bad Phone Support; where you hear them turning pages and looking up your problem and if it's something that isn't in their manual they don't have a clue as to how to solve your problems. I am so tired of bad support lately that I think this is a +++. I don't even mind paying a little more for something if they offer good support; for me personally it is always a consideration in anything I buy. I will leave a full Review once I have used it for a few months and can really get a full feel for it; and a more thorough evaluation. BUT SO FAR SO GOOD.!. -
I have used Trendmicro Internet Security for two years. Unfortunately its firewall will not let me connect to the internet and I am forced to use Microsoft's firewall which I do NOT like. Repeated and endless requests for support have not resulted in any solution whatsoever...support seems to be as bad as Symantec with English challenged support personnel giving solutions that do NOT work.

Last year because I had a firewall and antispyware programs the only thing I used was the antivirus. This year I am using the full package and it works great. But I am waiting for the review and was sorry not to see it before buying the product.

I can?t call the CNET folks idiots because I read and respect their reviews too much. On the other hand they reviewed the 2 good-ole-boys Norton and Mcafee months ago so this should have been reviewed by now. The 2005 version was an editors choice, so they should have reviewed the 2006 version BEFORE the other 2 if possible. In the past I used AGV, Zone Alarm, Norton and Mcafee; currently I have PC-cillin 2005 (a poorly chosen name) and I think it is the best I have had because of how little resources it eats, how much it catches, the ease of setup and use.
