The Bottom Line Although Webroot Spy Sweeper 5.5 scored well in CNET tests, it installs the Ask.com toolbar, which seems odd for antispyware product to do. Windows Defender is free and therefore should be a part of your desktop antispyware collection. At $20, ZoneAlarm Anti-Spyware is one of the least expensive paid antispyware option we reviewed, offers more features than other similar products, and remains one of the best. Vipre combines antivirus and antispyware technology in a fast and light application that also includes a worthy set of security tools. Spyware Doctor 5.1 could be more aggressive in removing all traces of found spyware.
