"Cryptic messages; upgrades ALWAYS flawed"
Pros: Does seem to keep things clean
Cons: As it learns, it asks a a lot of questions & permissions, all with zero guidance. I don't run anything exotic-it should be the software's job to know whether a particular file should have access to the internet or access to "system resources" or not
Summary: Of all the different software types, security software ought to run flawlessly and should leave the user with confidence. This does not. EVERY single upgrade has resulted in little, or sometimes big, issues to be resolved... and since the company offers no real support, it's up to the user to dig thorough user forums for answers. And once it runs, it asks for a lot of permission-granting while it learns your system, but it offers no real help in deciding what should be OKd and what should not. So, what good is security software if I am tricked into GRANTING permission to some rogue file? It gives a false sense of confidence.
I bought this because some review said it was the best...and maybe it catches a lot of bad things (however, i also run a free copy of some other spyware program, and it ALWAYS finds things ZoneAlarm missed). Looking back, it seems to have always gotten pretty bad user reviews, and still does--from now on I am paying more attention to the user reviews and skipping past the paid (off?) pro reviews.
