Unmatched Protection

Pros: All the strengths required to be a real protection suite

Cons: Slows down system, as TrueVector service takes some memory amount.

Review: If you have gigs of RAM, and you believe in no compromises with your system security, then look no further. This is the beat protection suite you can always rely on.

Very Disappointed

Pros: Had good reviews in Dec 2007

Cons: Did not play well with Vista Ultimate

Review: Purchased application early Jan 2008 and removed it Mar 2008. I have a top of the line fully loaded Dell XPS M1330 with Vista Ultimate. When I loaded Zone Alarm, it caused my computer to slow down considerably. Had major problems just having the laptop load, even using Registry Repair and Defrag application. Once I removed Zone Alarm, laptop resume great performance. Also, Zone Alarm three times - ran its updates around 2pm and I could not shut it down, had to let the update finish. Not what I would expect from a highly rated software. Very disappointed.

ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7.0 swallows CPU and memory

Pros: Comprehensive UI

Cons: Consums a staggering amount of resource of the computer

Review: At startup it kills my laptop. I need to wait up to 5 min for ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7.0 to initialize and check for update process on 100% CPU and 200 - 300 MB memory. The computer freezes for 1 min intervals during startup
When you expect it the least, ZoneAlarm would start a check for updates (again 100% CPU) 1-2 times an hour for short 1/2 min at a time. I know they don't have updates that frequently but cannot tweak the application to make that step less frequently like on a daily bases
Scanning the inbound/output bytes on the network seem quite good, no complain about that (it might be that is turned off by default :), I cannot tell, I only assume the software does that though). Scanning the discs for viruses is heavy. Once a week I need to set my laptop aside for 5 hours during which the computer is 100% CPU and 400 M RAM to Zone Alarm's
Overall, since I installed it my laptop (a Gateway one with Turion64 1.8 GHz, 1.5 GB RAM) the system is 10 to 20% overall slower then without it
Anyone ready the huge footprint of ZoneAlarm Security Suite 7.0 is welcomed to use it

Buy something else

Pros: good features.excellent parental controls

Cons: heavy on system.slow load and scan time.conflicts

Review: I would not waste my money on this security suite.I purchased a full year subscription only to have its license key expire several times with in four months. It happens without warning and leaves your computer unprotected until it is figured out. This process can take anywhere from a day or even a week . It depends how proficient customer service is.I write this review with this unprotected recurring problem.Zone lab Customer service is good at playing email tag but not very good at finding a solution for your problem.

What a piece of junk!

Pros: I got it free through Trial Pay

Cons: Couldn't get it to install!

Review: I got the Zone Alarm Suite through Zone Lab's Trial Ware. That's where you get the program free if you purchase one of many available offers. ( I chose the BMG music club, so at least I got some free CD's out of this) After downloading and installing, the computer rebooted, but the program never came up. nor would it let me open many other programs. Luckily, I had made a restore point before the install and I reverted back being without it. I then put back on my Kaspersky Internet Security and I am happy with that.

Simply The Best

Pros: Easy almost fool proof interface

Cons: Dealing with spam needs improving urgently

Review: Prior to using Zone Alarm Security Suite I had used all the great pretenders and found them seriously lacking in various areas, but in ZASS I found one class act, reliably secure, just set it and forget it.

Don't buy ...

Pros: None that I found ,,,

Cons: Disjointed ...

Review: Very poor customer service!! You'd have to be a computer whiz to be able to use this software. It couldn?t even detect common viruses/bots. Free online scanners did. Started playing up with my system software half-way through subscriptions and after numerous unanswered e-mails from ZA Australia, I was told to uninstall and reinstall. Then it wouldn't recognise the license key. ZA Australia took days to respond to e-mails. Office hours are between 9AM-5PM, which means you'll have to take leave to be home (where the computer sits) to be able to rectify the problem.

I was e-mailed a link from ZA website with instructions to rectify the problem. This involved playing with a number of .dll files. I found this kind of a patch very unprofessional.

Will never buy this software again, EVER.

Uninstalled After 9 Days

Pros: User Interface and Controls

Cons: Had to manually load

Review: After 9 days of tweaking settings, uninstalling and reinstalling, and suffering through HORRIBLE support from ZL, I finally threw in the towel.

For those who did not have my experience, I am sure you will be very happy with ZASS.

If loading automatically, it would lock up my computer at start up and literally take 1 hour minimum to load (including power downs and re-boots). The gory details (minute by minute of my typical start up) of that are on the ZL forum under Installation/Upgrade .

As for the Tech Support, if ZL fails it will be because their poor Support soils their good name. $3.00/min support is OK if you are an established customer. But at least make an attempt to assist your new customers.

Very Disappointing.

Excellant Overall

Pros: Easy to Install, Seamless Interface,

Cons: None that I have seen

Review: I have used the Norton and McAfee Suites and then went to using a hodgepodge of products, AVG Anti-Virus, teneBril's SpyCatcher, Zone Labs Firewall and was pleased with the performance of these products but the Zone Alarm Suite has everthing all bundled together in one neat interface that does it all.

The best Security Suite with minor problems

Pros: Easy to use, triple protection, auto configures

Cons: Updates anti-virus good, updates anti-spyware poor

Review: This is for version 6.1.737
User friendly, even a novice user can configure the settings. Uses less processor, allows permit/deny for unknown applications to access internet with triple protection for system allowance strength. There are only three minor problems which I have known while using this version for a month.
1) ZASS crashes and shuts down when configuring custom firewall with port specific while connected to the internet with the same port specific opened in router. ZASS crashes when an incoming message detected while configuring the specific ports.
2) Anti-virus updates every time but anti-spyware updates once then keep getting successful update message without updating the anti-spyware data. It?s an unknown problem since first releasing 6 with new built-in anti-spyware.
3) Programs in list grows, grows, grows and stays in the program list, even when they were uninstalled months ago. Zonelabs should put a ?refresh? button to remove the programs from list which are no longer in the computer or ZASS will become slow to load.
The good part of ZASS, it can catch an installation of unknown file with its triple protection which did happen twice on my system that was used to track information from a few of my product via internet by key logging and data reading. ZASS works best when most programs filled in ?Program Control? to reduce popup alerts so it can catch newly installations which does not run normally in system everyday. If you are about to buy this product, I would recommend to backup the setting often with this product. About twice a week is a good choice to keep known programs in ZASS to be well known for less popup permission alerts so it could catch freshly new alerts for better option choices. I wouldn?t be using any security suite other than ZASS and wish to bring Zonelabs attention to the three minor problems and wouldn?t be tell you not buy this product but only of what you will get for buying it as I myself like this one better than Norton Internet Security Suite.

What are these guys talkin' about?

Pros: Well developed, mature product with a great track record

Cons: annoying pop ups until you get it "trained" for your sys.

Review: I have tried any number of anti-virus programs (Panda, Norton, PCillin among them). Zone is the best - without question.
Easy to use, reliable and fairly priced. It should be your first choice unless price is the issue. Zone labs has been around a long time and products like this don't stay around unless they work. They are a consistent "best" on every credible list of product raters (including CNet).

Abhorrent email services, abhorrent support

Pros: Nice interface, good compliment of services

Cons: Email services are broken, support is a joke, too much fiddling required

Review: Horrible technical support. The kind that tells you MS Outlook can't handle your email accounts even though they all work fine in the absence of ZoneAlarm. They tell you to disable redundant, conflicting portions of their suite. Huh? Is that what I paid for? - a product with conflicting, redundant components? Their own product descriptions do not portray them as such. Weeks of installing, uninstalling, new versions, updates that break Outlook, tweak this tweak that, and an escalated technical support issue that was ignored until legal action was threatened. They immediately called to process a credit card return at that point.

Totally unacceptable experience.

We need products that provided the services provided by this suite, but we do not need them provided by ZoneLabs.

Oh No! The Beast is loose.

Pros: It Blocks Everything

Cons: It also destroys everything

Review: Uninstall this monster before you have to do a system recovery not restore recovery. If you need help doing that to bad tech support is nowhere to be found.

GREAT FIREWALL AND SECURITY SUITE

Pros: EASY TO USE

Cons: NONE SO FAR THAT I HAVE FOUND

Review: BETTER THAN NORTORN WITH DOS OF SERVICE ATTACK THE MESS WITH THERE PROGRAM
