Logitech G19
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.3 (3.5 stars)
Logitech G19 Reviewed on 06/01/2009

The Bottom Line: Logitech's $200 G19 Gaming Keyboard boasts a built-in color LCD with exciting capabilities, as well as lots of little improvements over previous models. But with few apps--thus far--that take advantage of the screen in a meaningful way, the G19's potential remains largely untapped. Until the community software effort gets rolling, we can't recommend spending this much on a keyboard that, while flashy, has yet to realize its full potential.

Specs: External, PC, Mac, Hi-Speed USB, 4 pin USB Type A, Keyboard, Wired

Optimus Maximus
  • Editors' rating: 3 stars
      Overall score: 6.3 (3.0 stars)
Optimus Maximus Reviewed on 07/17/2008

The Bottom Line: As impressive as we find the Optimus Maximus keyboard in concept, the $1,600 price tag overwhelms its real world benefits. We can only recommend this keyboard to those most charmed by this unique keyboard's novelty.

Specs: 21.1 in x 6.8 in x 1.5 in, External, PC, Mac, USB, 4 pin USB Type B, Keyboard, Wired

Das Professional Keyboard
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.7 (3.5 stars)
Das Professional Keyboard Reviewed on 07/03/2008

The Bottom Line: Typing purists, gamers, and computing old schoolers will love the Das Professional Keyboard and its satisfying mechanical switch design. Most casual users, however, will balk at the $125 price for such an otherwise spare input device.

Specs: PC, Mac, Hi-Speed USB, Keyboard, Wired, Glossy black

Kinesis Contoured Advantage Keyboard
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 5 stars out of 7 reviews
Kinesis Contoured Advantage Keyboard Reviewed on 06/18/2008

The Bottom Line: The Kinesis Advantage Contoured Keyboard requires a significant investment of both money and time, but those who make the investment will be rewarded with a more comfortable typing experience.

Specs: Keyboard, 16.5 in x 8 in x 2.9 in, External, Keyboard, Wired, Black, QWERTY / DVORAK

Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 3 stars out of 10 reviews
Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 Reviewed on 06/15/2007

The Bottom Line: Microsoft's Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 brings a lot of features and functions. Its wireless, backlit keyboard is also rechargeable, but we wish it were better designed and about $50 less expensive. We suspect many people will be impressed at the features on the box, but then you'll see the price and move along.

Specs: External, PC, USB, 4 pin USB Type A, Keyboard, Wireless, Laser, Light silver, Mouse

Razer ProType keyboard
  • Editors' rating: 4 stars
      Overall score: 8.0 (4.0 stars)
Razer ProType keyboard Reviewed on 04/23/2007

The Bottom Line: We wish Razer had considered the value proposition a bit more with its iPod dock-equipped ProType keyboard, but if you think minimized cable clutter is worth an extra $30 and the loss of some configurability, you'll find yourself with an attractive keyboard that's a pleasure to type on.

Specs: External, PC, Mac, Line-out, USB, Keyboard, Wired

Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard
  • Editors' rating: 3h stars
      Overall score: 7.0 (3.5 stars)
  • User rating: 4 stars out of 10 reviews
Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard Reviewed on 08/02/2006

The Bottom Line: Logitech's G11 Gaming Keyboard has neither the high-tech flash nor the built-in LCD screen of Logitech's G15 model, but otherwise the two keyboards are exactly the same. Nongamers might not be too interested, but thanks a vast array of customizable keys and sharp blue LED backlighting, we imagine all kinds of PC gamers could benefit from it.
