"Need lots of macros? This keyboard is pretty good."

4 stars  | on by Mergatroid Mania

Pros

Three levels of 18 macro keys, Cherry Red mechanical keyboard switches, adjustable blue backlights, aluminum chassis. Nice volume control and media switches.

Cons

Software is a little primitive (but they keep updating it and it works). One backlight on my test unit died (under the left shift key), not all the keys are mechanical.

Typing on this keyboard is pretty good because the main keyboard keys use mechanical switches. Unfortunately the macro keys, function keys and the keys in the (INS, HOME, DEL) keypad don't. There are 18 macro keys and three shift levels for more macros than you're likely to ever need. The chassis is very sturdy and the backlights reflect off of it creating an overall glow. The intensity level can be adjusted in three stages or shut off. The keyboard is a little long because of the extra keys. The volume control is great because it's not just a couple of buttons but a slider wheel instead. Everything works on this keyboard. Some people may find the mechanical keys a little loud, but personally I did not. Overall this is a pretty good keyboard that is in desperate need of an instruction manual.
I would recommend it for people who don't find investigating how to get something they just purchased to work properly. If you like having an instruction manual for learning how to use a product and for reference, this may not be the keyboard for you. However, I hear they are working on a manual you can download. Note that driver/firmware update is required right out of the box.
