Pros Quality, solid build and classic style.
Cons Hope the laser etched letters don't wear off.
Summary I've been on the quest for a new keyboard to use at work. I tried quite a few and landed on two - this one and another (for which I also wrote a review). I really like both of them and will be happy to keep one at home and switch back and forth.
For this Das Keyboard - I did get the one with lettering on the keys and not the blank one. I'm not sure if that was the best choice due to seeing other reviews with complaints of the lettering wearing off. I contact Das Keyboards customer support and they assured me that the key printing process had been changed to laser etching and since then they haven't had problems with the lettering wearing off. I guess time will tell.
I was hoping that this keyboard would be "silent" or at least pretty quiet - but this isn't so. It does have a rather light sounding clickity clack going on but not annoyingly so. I really do like the light fingered feel and response of the keystrokes. Really takes no effort at all to type and makes the WPM much faster than with other keyboards. I would have liked a mat finish better than the gloss as I feel it will probably looked scratched in no time but it's not a deal breaker for me. Sounds like I have a lot of cons in this review but the overall typing feel and experience so outweigh any drawbacks noted. This is a great keyboard for those that are looking for an awesome typing experience.
