"Great system for Intel Macs....with a little twist!!!"
Pros: Very versatile and stylish!
Cons: Set up is not a breeze!
Summary: Ok lets set one thing straight! This keyboard is compatible with Intel Macs! I know because I have one! But here is the trick....throw away the software disc that comes in the box...seriously! It won't work. What you have to do is download the new version from Logitech and when you are asked to check the automatic check for updates....UNCHECK IT!!!! At that point everything works fine. I know... a little bit of a pain, but well worth it.
As I am sure many have found, even with all the hoopla about the new keyboard design on these new IMacs, it is very uncomfortable and does not offer much in the way of shortcuts.
The mouse too sits too low and your wrist sits on the table without much in the way of support. Which is why I was on the hunt for a new keyboard. Additionally the "H" key on my Mac keyboard was faulty...sometimes keying and sometimes not!
The S530 is a very well thought out keyboard/mouse combination. The mouse is ergonomic and very comfortable. The keyboard is very comfortable to type on and although the keys could have a better feel, a little to loose for me, it all works very well and looks great too! There are ten buttons on the outer edge of the keyboard that are customizable to open any program...more than enough for anyone! I can open up Firefox and Photoshop from my keyboard with the touch of just one button on the keyboard! To change the repeat rate on both the backspace and delete keys, you have to adjust those in the main mouse and keyboard settings on the Mac.
The mouse itself has eleven different actions...all customizable!
At 79.95, this keyboard is a real bargain to Imac users. I hope they come out with one with a better feeling keyset!
